Commodore Vic 20

1969 - Born on December 28 in Helsinki, Finland

1980 - Receives his first computer, a Commodore Vic 20

1988 - Enters Helsinki University in the fall

1990 - First encounters and starts tampering with MINIX

1991 - Releases a draft of Linux for editing by everyone in August

1996 - Releases Linux version 2.0 in December, first daughter is born

1997 - Moves to Santa Clara, starts working at Transmeta Corp.

1999 - Linux is estimated to have 7 million users

2001 - IBM donates $1 billion for Linux research and promotion

2003 - Starts working at the Open Source Development Labs
